Cricut Time

💝Hello, Peeps.
Doing some Cricut stuff this evening.
Linking all my cartridges to the Explore One.
Two of my sisters are Cricut whizzes.
My third sister is more like me with a Cricut, that is, still catching on.
Here's the little bag I made for my great-niece Piper.
It's very small, like her.
The straps are so stiff but maybe that will work out.  I didn't intend for them
to turn out quite this stiff!
I am going in the other room now to see if John wants to watch a movie.

It's National Quilting Day So I Should Be Quilting

Happy National Quilting Day to all my quilting peeps!
I would enjoy doing some quilting but I'm not feeling quite up to par today.  In fact, I've felt a nagging icky feeling since Monday.  No fever.  No acute symptoms.  Just fatigue (worse than usual) and some other blah, non-specific stuff.  Yesterday was better and I thought I was back to normal but then today I'm not.  So since I'm not quilting, I am going to begin a new book.  I bought this one used around Christmas time but haven't read a word of it yet.  It came recommended so I'm going to see how I like it.  I just started another book a few days ago and the story line is very good but it contains writing that I find offensive so I quit.  That book is soon going to be out of here.  I haven't read any others by Stephen King so I don't know what to expect.
I have a great-niece who is about 18 months old and she loves to carry around a purse or a bag on her shoulder.  I'm also a bag person so I understand how important they are!  I am wanting to sew a little one for just her size.  She's tiny and doesn't need more than a tiny bag.
Here's a snap I took of her during the coffee & donut time at church recently.
She's just a little dolly!
The  two little guys are her brothers who are so precious.
If I do happen to get her little bag sewed, I'll pop in to post a pic.
'Till next time, have a great day!

Another UFO Becomes A WIP

Hello and happy Saturday, Peeps!
And a happy Saint Patrick's Day as well.
I woke up earlier than usual this morning and I've been sitting with my coffee and doing some reading in a novel that I began last night.  I needed a break so I'm taking a pause to post as it's been two weeks.
As I promised myself, I'm pursuing my UFO list and have pulled Gail Pan's free BOM blocks out to work on until completion.  They are such pretty designs and I don't remember what side-tracked me at the time.  I had them tucked away to finish later and I suppose later has arrived.  I do love embroidery but when there are French knots to be made I do give my poor arthritic hand & finger joints a bit of a workout.
John and I have been kind of busy doing some projects around the house and we also made a short out-of-town trip last week to take care of some business.  He also offered weeks and weeks ago to take me shopping to replace a chair and I finally was ready to do so yesterday.  I have a nice chair in the family room but this is for the other room which is where I prefer to read or watch TV if John is watching basketball in the family room.
So off we went to the furniture store to check out the chairs and I chose this one.
Do you remember the story of The Three Bears and Baby Bear wanted a chair that was "just right?"  This one was it.  I could have ordered one in neutral colors but I liked this one.  (It appears slightly purple in the photo but actually it's a burgundy and tan tweed.)   I suppose it just spoke to me.  The store helpers loaded it into John's truck and we headed for home.  I thought it looked just fine with this small homespun quilt on the back which I will use as a throw if I get cold.  Not that that's likely to happen.
Besides stitching on the above project, I am using some inspiration pictures on Pinterest to design a quilt that I have swirling in my mind.  It will incorporate pieced blocks, accented with some embroidery.  That's all I will share until I have something more specific to show you.  I can picture something in my mind but drafting it onto paper is going to take some time and effort.
I'm so glad you decided to visit me.
Please come again!

No Wonder My Hands Hurt!

Hello there to you!
Another week nearly over.
Here are a few things I've been working on in the past day or two:
My very first treadle sewing:
I did the piecing and the quilting on the treadle, then sewed the binding on with the Viking.
I hand-sewed the back of the binding.
This afternoon I cut out a stack of over 100 hexie pieces for my GFG
Following a tip I read on Quiltville on FB, I attached a piece of this tape to
the back of the template and it was very helpful in
preventing slipping.

After I finished cutting the hexies, I completed three
hand-written notes that I'll mail tomorrow.
Our weather this week has been a bit fickle --
Early in the week tornadoes passed very close to us
on Thursday we had some snow.
I think I'll make a cuppa tea and do some reading in a book I've been trying to finish.
Y'all have a great night!
